ITS Introduces Project Management Competency CenterBy: Jeff Grieve
One of strategic priorities as outlined in our recent 5 year departmental strategy is to develop and seamlessly integrate Project Management best practices into our IT Service Delivery model. By embedding Project Management discipline into our processes, we are striving to become more effective and efficient in delivering new capabilities to Western. We are very pleased to be able to welcome Fardin Maknoni to Western and to ITS. Fardin is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) who also brings with him a wealth of experience both in developing Project Management Offices and in managing projects in large complex organizations.
The ITS Project Management Competency Center (PMCC) will be primarily responsible for the development and promotion of a Project Management methodology that is tailored to Western. This framework will include processes, templates, tools and consultation services. The PMCC will also provide a focal point for training and professional development support of Project Management within ITS. We will be focussing initially on developing these materials within ITS on an iterative basis over the next 12-18 months. Over time and on an opportunity basis, we will then begin to look to extend these services to others in the Campus community in situations where we might be able to bring additional add value.
This is a very exciting development for us in ITS. Please join us in welcoming Fardin to Western and to ITS!
