Welcome to the introductory video for the RAMP System. RAMP is an acronym that stands for Registration Aggregation Mobile Policy. This piece of software was originally created and maintained by the University of Western Ontario Information Technology Services Department. RAMP is a management system that allows network navigators and support staff to look up and maintain information about the network and the subsets of data that are contained within the RAMP database. RAMP allows us to support Western's diverse IT department using multiple views that can be assigned to a single group and single views that can be assigned to multiple groups. This setup allows for the application to control access by determining which views to display based upon the user's group membership. The RAMP client is a JAVA app. Once the webstart content has been installed on your desktop, you can log into the RAMP program by using your Western User ID and password.
