Turnitin Group Assignments Known Issue in OWL Brightspace

D2L and Turnitin have resolved the issue of Group Assignments becoming stuck in the "In-Progress" state indefinitely. Assignments that were previously in this state will begin to populate; there is currently no ETA on when all reports will be resolved.

D2L and Turnitin have identified a new known issue with the integration between the Brightspace Assignments tool and Turnitin.

In a Group Assignment, if the "Only the most recent submission is kept" setting and Turnitin Similarity Report are both enabled, when a Learner makes a submission it will permanently display a Turnitin status of "In Progress" and no Similarity Report will be generated.

The suggested workaround is to remove the "Only the most recent submission is kept" setting from group assignments that have Turnitin enabled.

D2L is working on the issue with Turnitin but do not have an estimated timeline for a fix. WTS is continuing to monitor the issue and will share updates from D2L's support team.
