Gradescope is Now Centrally Supported!

For the past several years, Gradescope has been provided to many Western instructors by the Faculty of Science. Use of Gradescope has grown significantly and has been identified as a key service for Western instructors. Going forward, Gradescope will be available to all Western instructors and will be managed by Western Technology Services (WTS).  

What is Gradescope

Gradescope is an online grading tool that is designed to streamline collaborative grading and grading of paper-based assessments. Collaborate grading features allow multiple graders to simultaneously grade the same assessment using rubrics and commenting tools to provide consistent, rapid feedback to students.  Gradescope simplifies paper-based assessments by allowing instructors to upload scanned copies of exams and by allowing students to upload a scanned PDF or photograph of their work. Once uploaded to Gradescope, paper-based assessments can then be efficiently graded  using rubrics and online grading features. 

Update (Feb. 1st 2022): The Gradescope review is now available on the Western eLearning Toolkit.

Creating an Account 

Instructors interested in using Gradescope can sign up at www.gradescope.ca with their @uwo.ca email address.   

Getting Help 

If you have questions or need help using Gradescope, instructors can email help@gradescope.com. 

Gradescope integration with OWL 

• Instructors who wish to have Gradescope added to their OWL site can request it through the WTS Helpdesk 
• The integration with OWL will allow for direct access to Gradescope.  
• Please note that grades in Gradescope cannot be synchronized to OWL at this time
