Western Transitions Away from In-Person Exams

To facilitate Western’s transition to online exams, a condensed mini assessment request form has been created.
STEP 1: IMPORTANT! Update your online assessment plans by DECEMBER 16th at 5:00 p.m.
Navigation: (login) > left menu “Exam Central” > top menu “Assessments,” and dropdown “Assessment Requests” > “Click here to Update December Exam”
Example:
**All assessments that take place in the last five days of the exam period need to be reported in order to adequately support you. We will be in contact with the instructor/department if a submission has not been made by the deadline.
STEP 2: Please Review the Resources and Strategies for Online Assessments Below:
The Centre for Teaching & Learning (CTL), Western Technology Services (WTS), and the Office of the Registrar (OOR) have prepared the following just-in-time resources and strategies to assist faculty to wrap up their courses.

- If you are concerned about issues of Academic Integrity, consider adopting Question Pools and randomizing the questions
- For student accessibility, it is possible to allow extra time for students to complete exams in OWL Tests & Quizzes, as well as Gradescope
Remote Proctoring
Remote proctoring is available using Proctortrack. For more information about remote proctoring, please click here to visit Western's remote proctoring website
Detailed instructions for setting up Proctortrack evaluations may be found on Extranet:

Gradescope
- An online grading tool that also has the capacity to administer tests and quizzes, now a centrally supported Western University tool
- The article Gradescope is Now Centrally Supported provides an introduction to Gradescope, as well as links to help documentation
- To request Gradescope be added to your OWL course site, please contact the WTS Helpdesk
