New IDM

What is Identity Manager?

Western Identity Manager (IDM) is an application to help you manage your electronic identity here at Western. Currently Western Identity Manager is the online location where you manage your account password, security questions and Non-Person Accounts(NPA).

What changes are coming?

Between August 1st, 2019 at 6:00pm and Tuesday August 6th, 2019  we will be replacing the current system that powers IDM. During this period the IDM system will not be available to users.

After the upgrade you will log into IDM at https://identity.uwo.ca which will have a new look and feel but retain most of the same functionality you are used to.

Your current User ID and password will remain the same but due to security requirements your current Challenge/Response questions will not be ported over to the new system. Upon first login to the new IDM you will be required to setup three new Challenge/Response questions.

For those that manage Non-Person Accounts (NPA) you will now find these under the Service Identities tab. Any references to NPA around campus will gradually be changed to the new Service Identity name.

The Synchronize My Password and Subscribe to IDM features will no longer be required with the new system.

Impact to Faculty, Students, Staff

Your current userID and password will continue to work, however the IDM login page and internal pages for password and account management will have a new look and feel.
