The Laptop Loaner Pilot for Researchers is a collaborative initiative between Western Technology Services and Western Research. The pilot is scheduled to run until December 2026. Loaner laptops are provided to Western researchers on a first come, first served basis for short-term use during international travel to help reduce cybersecurity risks and protect research data and university systems.

If you are a Western researcher travelling internationally, completing and submitting the request form at least 7 business days prior to your first day of travel is the best way to ensure that Western Technology Services and Western Research have adequate time to review, approve and fulfil your request.
