How Do I... Setup a Service Identity using Email in Private IP
Introduction
Some devices on campus e.g. Servers, Multi-Function Devices or Mass Mailers require special Outgoing Server Settings (described below) in order to send email.
This guide will walk you through setting up a connection to send Western email on a device in Private IP space.
NOTE: You cannot use an IMAP account to receive email in Private IP space.

Outgoing Settings
NOTE: To use a Service Identity for a Multi-Function Device follow Setup Scan-to-Email on MFD.Connect to Office 365 by using the following outgoing email server settings:
- Server Hostname: mtar.uwo.ca
- Server Port: 587
- Encryption: TLS
- Username: serviceidentity@uwo.ca
- Password: serviceidentitypassword
Can't Authenticate?
If you cannot specify a password in your email client you can request an exception in order to send mail. Access to this service is restricted and subject to approval, please contact the Helpdesk at x83800 or if you are not on campus 519 661-3800 to request access.
