Service Description
The Security Operations Team (SOC) offers a secure process for disposing of hard drives and electronic devices following recognized standards (e.g., NIST 800-88) and issues certificates of destruction. This service ensures:
- All sensitive data on the device is fully destroyed
- Hardware is handled responsibly and securely
- Devices are disposed of in accordance with Western's security and environmental guidelines
How to Request or Use the Service
To request secure hard drive/device disposal:
- Please email the WTS Security Operations Team or
- Submit a ticket to the WTS Helpdesk
What You Need To Use The Service
Hard drives and devices must be delivered to the WTS Security Operations Team in SSB 4300.
