 General improvements to Reset Password (student only) process 
  • The User ID has been added to steps 2-4; Policies, Set Answers, and Set Password steps of the student reset password wizard.

  • Employees activating their identity. The Activate My Identity process will now check to see if a one-time password has been set.
  • Students resetting their password via ID Number and Pin has been updated to identities that have previously been activated.
  • Users resetting their password via security questions and answers has been restricted to identities that have previously been activated
  • Only identities that have previously been activated will be allowed to log onto Western Identity Manager
  • Managing multiple service identities.
    • The max number of service identities that can be processed at a time has been restricted to 100.
    • The session time out for processing has been extended to 5 minutes from 1 minute.
    • This will mitigate session time out issues being experienced by users. I.e. Error 500s.
  • Viewing service identities.
    • The email addresses assigned to a service identity have been added to the screen.
    • The view screen has been switched to 2 columns to give a better view of information.
    • The description field should wrap now if it is too long for the screen.
  • Activating service identities.
    • The password displayed on the screen now has a more readable font.
  • Resetting passwords on service identities.
    • The password displayed on the screen now has a more readable font.

A list of changes from legacy identity system include:

  • Look and feel overhaul.
  • On first log in users are required to enter security answers.
  • Student and Employee activation process now uses a wizard.
  • Introductory email now sent out upon activation if role has Email service.
  • Student Password Reset now uses a wizard.
  • Users required to create their own passwords, no more system generated passwords.
  • Ability to create WTS Service Desk tickets directly from application within the help icon.
  • Non-Person Accounts (NPAs) are now referred to as Service Identities.
  • Only one type of service identity, with or without email.
  • Service identities will have their passwords changed upon expiry.
