How do I check my voicemail from Jabber?

You will need to dial into a voicemail to check for messages

  • From your on-campus phone:
    • Dial the internal system number, 83000 or press MESSAGE key
    • Enter your pin, followed by the # key
  • From another on-campus phone:
    • Dial the internal system number, 83000.
    • Press * to indicate that you have mailbox on the system
    • Enter your ID (ID = 5 digit extension), followed by the # key
    • Enter your pin, followed by the # key
  • From off-campus phone:
    • Dial 519 661-3000
    • Press * to indicate that you have a mailbox on the system
    • Enter your ID (ID = 5 digit extension), followed by the # key
    • Enter your pin, followed by the # key

Is there any cost associated with a Jabber account?

The Jabber Softphone solution is free of charge service for numbers that are already exist and are attached to a physical phone.  If a department requires a new number, standard telephone line services charges will apply.  See https://wts.uwo.ca/services_document/telecom.html for details.

How do I request a Jabber?

To request a Jabber profile, you will need to submit a Service desk ticket which requires your telephone coordinator's approval.  You will also need to sign a 911 waiver to submit a ticket.

Who can have a Jabber profile?

This new service will be offered to: 

  • Western departmental numbers listed in Western Directory and already attached to a physical phone
  • Western UCCX call center (e.g. Helpdesk, Student Central, RezNet) agent and supervisor numbers
