Editing a Service Identity's attributes

Introduction

Using Western Identity Manager any contact of the Service Identity may edit the attributes.  There are 3 attributes that can be modified on a Service Identity:

  • First Name - This allows you to set the first name of the account.  The first name field is visible in many applications, such as email clients and Windows domain log in sessions.
  • Last Name - This allows you to set the first name of the account.  The first name field is visible in many applications, such as email clients and Windows domain log in sessions.
  • Description - This allows you to store a description of the account.  This may be populated upon creation with the reason given during the original request but it can be changed to reflect any pertinent information.

The steps for both are described below.

Steps

  1. Log in to Western Identity Manager using your personal credentials (NOT the Service Identity).
  2. Select the Service Identities tab.
  3. Select the Search tab.
  4. Find the account(s) by searching by User ID, Life Cycle, and/or select an Expiration Date. To list all your accounts just click the Search button.
  5. Place a check mark beside each of the accounts you would like to manage attributes for, and select Edit.
  6. Place a check mark beside the attribute you would like to change (you may do all attributes at the same time) and enter the new values.  Whatever you enter here will be applied to all account selected on the previous page.  When done, click Edit.
  7. A results page will display each User ID and updated values.
